Premier League - Tevez unhappy with Fergie

Eurosport - Tue, 06 Jan 09:55:00 2009

Manchester United ace Carlos Tevez has risked the wrath of Sir Alex Ferguson by reacting to the manager's comments over his contract situation.

On Sunday Tevez, 24, revealed his disappointment at speculation that he had rejected a new offer from the Premier League champions, and on Monday he reiterated his desire for his future to be sorted.

"I didn't like him (Ferguson) saying I didn't like the offer I was made because neither my agent nor me were given one," the Argentina international, whose deal runs out in the summer, told Radio del Plata.

"I don't know anything on my future. United know what they must pay if they want me to stay.

"I want to stay but the club have not made any offer. I've been waiting for them for a year and a half."

The ongoing saga has prompted reports that Tevez, who joined United from West Ham in 2007, is a target of Real Madrid, and the forward added: "If I have to quit the club, I want to quit on good terms."

"Now all clubs are on an equal footing. If a club comes to me and offers me a five-year deal, I will accept it for peace of mind.

"I will sign my last contract, and then I figure that I'll go back to Boca (Juniors.) That could be in four or five years."

"I want everybody to know no offer has been made. I don't like that they are playing with our fans, who show their love to me in each match."

  1. I really think Tevez is a good catch for Manchester United. he is a good player, he makes very good impact on the field. He's got potentials Manchester United needs. He has contributed positively to the success of the club in the short time has has spent. I also believe he would do better if he is offered a contract.

  3. i m a manchester utd fan and i personnaly think than tevez is an incredible player and can be a future ballon d or,i like berbatov but i personnally think tevez should have more chance to play than berbatov and it would really be a shame to not signing tevez,we can t let this guy go.when you see him play and missing a shot or a pass you can see how pissed off he is and last year honestly the combo rooney tevez was at my eyes better than the combo tevez berbatov this year and even we re still postuling for the title i really think last year we did better in part cause of tevez.come on fergie please sign him,he s young and will do so well and i don t want see him having the damn real madrid jersey on him.

  10. FERGI can only spend what the owners say and hes spent it. BUT why are they not treated the same as WEST HAM OVER TEVEZ.

  11. Another point to all the jealous people - Yes, West Ham were fined for dealing with the tevez owners but that was due to the lack of clarity that they presented to the FA. Once the matter had been cleared & proper regulations were in place, then man utd went in for Tevez. Why is it that when ever united do something in football it is always met with jealous criticism & paranoia?
And as soon as liverpool dealt with the same company for Mascherano, no one says jack!
Amazing! I don't recall liverpool even making an official offer for the player so how long is he gonna be on loan?
But keep up you united hating, cos it just means we keep winning & beating you!

  13. To me someone whose demands are higher, does not performs well. He must go if he could not accept the desires of the Club, he is not the only good striker in Man/Utd. Tevez must go where he could deserves much to satisfy his!!! oh... oh... oh...

  14. Man utd want to keep tevez but the problem is the prize. To spend £30 million on another striker will be too much. If tevez and his agent will accept £20 million, i am sure the deal will be done by Friday. As a Man utd fan, I will like Tevez's move to be permanent but I still feel the prize needs to be reduced.

  16. i'm a Man u fan, but I wont be bias on this matter. I'm sick and tired of Fergie's behaviour and Attitude towards players that gave their best for the club, If tevez leaves it will break my heart and I will hate fergie for it. Tevez and rooney are hard working strikers and should start. Babatov is too lazy. In terms of substitutions i think we are missing Queiroz cos this season fergie has made bad sub during crucial matches this season and that really cost us a lot

  17. Berbetov best striker in world dont make me laugh ha ha ha ha he lazy Torres in class above .... 18 Leagues 5 european cups *****

  18. Tevez did great for United and deserve respect for that. Now they have Berbetov -probably the best striker in the world and he is playing better and better every game.Tevez should stay on the bench now.

  19. Tevez Is totally not worth the money, 24 million for him!!!!! he is not a top class forward like Torres or Anelka, he works hard but so does heskey !!!! i think he has scored some last gasb goals and thats why he is getting this massive price tag... Liverpool for the league 100% united 3rd .... *****
