Premier League - Tevez unhappy with Fergie

Eurosport - Tue, 06 Jan 09:55:00 2009

Manchester United ace Carlos Tevez has risked the wrath of Sir Alex Ferguson by reacting to the manager's comments over his contract situation.

On Sunday Tevez, 24, revealed his disappointment at speculation that he had rejected a new offer from the Premier League champions, and on Monday he reiterated his desire for his future to be sorted.

"I didn't like him (Ferguson) saying I didn't like the offer I was made because neither my agent nor me were given one," the Argentina international, whose deal runs out in the summer, told Radio del Plata.

"I don't know anything on my future. United know what they must pay if they want me to stay.

"I want to stay but the club have not made any offer. I've been waiting for them for a year and a half."

The ongoing saga has prompted reports that Tevez, who joined United from West Ham in 2007, is a target of Real Madrid, and the forward added: "If I have to quit the club, I want to quit on good terms."

"Now all clubs are on an equal footing. If a club comes to me and offers me a five-year deal, I will accept it for peace of mind.

"I will sign my last contract, and then I figure that I'll go back to Boca (Juniors.) That could be in four or five years."

"I want everybody to know no offer has been made. I don't like that they are playing with our fans, who show their love to me in each match."

  2. If Rafa go for Tevez that will force SAF to cough out 30mil + wind up SAF, most prob spoiling his plan to sign anyone else. If Rafa get him then great, he's an excellent player and that would wind up SAF as well. Well, just wish we had that kind of money. This won't happen but if it does that'll sort things out for SAF & Tevez.

  9. I think that there shall be an offer and that Fergie is just keeping his cards close to him. Why would Manchester United not want to keep him, unless there are others on the horizon who are better. Can't imagine that though.

  10. I agree, Carlos Tevez would benefit with a move to Liverpool with Javier Mascherano and Emiliano Insua, the fellow Argentinians currently based at Anfield, but its obvious Manchester United won't ever accept selling their biggest stars to their most fierce rivals (speaking of honestly from a Liverpool fan)!

  12. I really like tevez and don't want hm to fall out with man utd. but he must understand the situation~~ how on earth did he end up owning by a non footballing party is something he knows better than me and for how long???? does that ownership ends in the summer too??? if it does then i couls see every reason man utd wants to wait till that contract is done better snapping him up on a free transfer instead of a 30mil deal~

  15. Manure agreed a price when they took him on loan. they should pay up then shut up. Their mistake was in buying berkatov, not a patch on Tevez.

  16. The problem with Tevez is he wants to go to Boca in few years. Which means United will lose most of his signing fee as Boca won't pay 30mil for him, they'd rather wait until his contract runs out. All this means Tevez is free agent this summer. Shame.
