Coyle admits to open loan policy

Wed 06 Feb, 06:15 PM

Burnley manager Owen Coyle admits he is keeping his options open about the possibility of making any further loan signings. The Clarets secured the services of Stanislav Varga and Andrew Cole from Sunderland, while Mark Randall also joined from Arsenal during the January transfer window and Coyle is prepared to strengthen his squad further when the loan window reopens on Friday.

He told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "We won't be closing the door just yet on anybody else coming in. We will always keep our eyes open.

"The transfer deadline window closed last week, but in terms of us making loans again, you are allowed to do that (from Friday), plus you can still bring in free agents.

"I won't go into specifics, but if we get into a situation where we've got injuries and suspensions, we will perhaps look to bring somebody in.

"But we won't be going down the road of bringing in people if they are not better than what we've got."
