Norwich striker Jamie Cureton is set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix on Monday.Despite suffering with a stomach complaint prior to kick-off, the 32-year-old featured as a 73rd-minute substitute in the Canaries 1-0 win over Preston on Saturday before being taken to hospital for surgery when the problem persisted the following day.
Manager Glenn Roeder told the club's official website: "Jamie wasn't feeling well on Friday but he picked himself up sufficiently to take part on Saturday.
"But on Sunday his stomach problems returned and he was admitted for surgery on Monday night. The operation was a complete success.
"We would like to wish Jamie a speedy recovery and hope that he doesn't miss more than the next two or three games."
