Iain Dowie has hinted that Robbie Simpson could be recalled to Coventry's starting line-up for the trip to Preston. The 22-year-old, a £40,000 summer signing from non-league Cambridge, has only recently regained full fitness following two months out with a torn hamstring.
Simpson has started just seven matches in all competitions this season, but has moved up the pecking order following the departures of Kevin Kyle and Dele Adebola.
Meanwhile, top scorer Michael Mifsud is away on international duty with Malta and may have to settle for a place on the bench at Deepdale upon his return to England.
Dowie said: "With Kyle and Dele going, Robbie comes much more into the fore and I thought he did very well when he came on against Barnsley on Saturday.
"With Michael (Mifsud) being away, it is a massive opportunity for him to get very involved because the travelling does take its toll."
