New Brentford striker Nathan Elder is prepared to play through the pain barrier to help haul his new side up the League Two table. The 22-year-old was signed from Brighton last week and enjoyed a dramatic debut - scoring an early own goal before notching a superb winner late on at Mansfield.
But Elder is also carrying a knee injury and admits that he is prepared to wait in order to keep Andy Scott's good run as manager going.
He said: "I was devastated when I had to have a scan on my knee to see what was happening.
"They said I could either get it treated now or at the end of the season. There was no question - I said I didn't want it now.
"If I can get through to the end of the season then great. If I need it done urgently, then I will but, until then, I'll play on."
