Stockport boss Jim Gannon praised his side's "quality" after their promotion push gathered more momentum with a thrilling 3-2 victory at Bury. The Hatters won their sixth game in seven to move within two points of Chesterfield in seventh spot.
A brace from Anthony Pilkington and a Jason Taylor strike cancelled out Bury strikes from Andy Bishop and Glynn Hurst.
Gannon said: "The lads have done fantastic, and the run of form we've been on has been immense.
"I've got to give the lads a lot of credit because it's been a tough week. Two wins against sides battling for points - I can't give the lads enough credit.
"There were times when they were brilliant but at times fatigue took its toll. We are disappointed with the two goals, we looked a little bit cold at the start of the second half.
"But you would expect Bury to come out on the front foot and go for the win. We worked our way back into the game and the lads were immense. We have got quality in the team and in this game we showed that quality."
