Holland hopes problems will relent

Wed 06 Feb, 03:15 PM

Crewe boss Steve Holland is desperate to deploy a settled starting XI week in, week out as his side battle to preserve their League One status. The Railwaymen have been beset by injuries and suspensions and as a result have amassed only two points - against Swindon and Bristol Rovers - from their last six games.

"It has been a testing time for everyone. We would have liked to stick with the same XI that started the Swindon and Bristol Rovers matches and build up some partnerships, but it didn't happen," Holland told the club's official website.

Six first-team players missed Crewe's 3-0 defeat at Brighton last weekend through injury, while Julien Baudet limped off 20 minutes into the game.

Holland added: "On the plus side there are still plenty of points to play for and although it is miserable to look at the league table it is still all very close."
