Knill aims to shake up Shakers

Wed 06 Feb, 12:45 PM

Bury manager Alan Knill insists he needs to instil a winning mentality into his side after they succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against Stockport. The Shakers were briefly 2-1 ahead courtesy of goals from from Andy Bishop and Glynn Hurst but let a one-goal lead slip before slumping to defeat, although Knill remained upbeat.

He said: "We did start brightly despite conceding early. The heads didn't drop. We came back and scored a great goal. I thought it was a pretty even first half.

"Second half we did really well, got the ball in the right areas. Then we conceded straight away again. Going from 2-1 up to 2-2 makes it difficult.

"You could just sense that they have been here before and obviously the third goal reflects how it has been going here for quite a while.

"There were some positives but the bottom line is about winning at all costs. It's up to me to change certain mentalities and attitudes."
