Rossi has rod removed from leg
Valentino Rossi has undergone surgery to remove the metal rod that was placed in his right tibia when he broke his leg in 2010.
The Mugello practice crash nearly two years ago forced Rossi to miss several races, ending his 2010 title bid. The rod has remained in his leg since then.
Today's operation at Cattolica's Cervesi hospital was a complete success, and Rossi will be fully fit for the next MotoGP test at Sepang from 28 February to 1 March.
His Ducati team-mate Nicky Hayden was also having surgery today to attend to shoulder damage sustained in a training accident just after Christmas.

Rossi = best rider in history. Honda said it was the bike when he was thier rider, so he left and went and won with Yamaha and Honda didn't win anything until last season with Stoner.
stoner = a good rider, but he has a long way to go before he can be a legend like Rossi and If marco simoncelli (RIP) had not have died, Stoner would have had a very short rain as the king.
lets hope this is the turning point for rossi and that he is back to full health best wishes for 2012 will be watching your every race hope you can prove again you are the best and you win the championship
I see was Stoner was moaning about the extra 4 kgs they had to put on the Honda - why didn't he have that CHIP put back on his shoulder that would have done it.
Poor old Dani - he has to have velcro put on the crutch and arse of his leathers so he stay on the bike - oohh!!!! the 1000cc bikes are too heavy .... he should go back to Moto3 - at least he will stay.
i wonder who the terrible triplets are going to pick on this year when the going gets tough - probably poor old Stefan Bradl as he is new and on a half decent bike.

Rossi is the biggest name in the history of your sport. Show some respect. It is undeniable fact, and to go against this removes any credibility from you as a fan.

If Rossi is that good on a bike, why doesn't he do the TT, North West 200, Manx GP, BSB or WSB? As under 20 riders in MGP is not racing, its an hour long warm up lap!
