Serie A - Ibrahimovic banned for three games
Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been suspended for three matches for his red card against Napoli, meaning he will miss the top-of-the-table clash with Serie A leaders Juventus.
The Sweden striker was sent off midway through the second half of the defending champions' 0-0 draw with Napoli at the San Siro after he slapped opponent Salvatore Aronica in an off-the-ball incident.
The incident was spotted by an assistant referee, and Ibrahimovic was shown a red card. The Italian league has deemed the offence one of violent conduct, which carries an automatic three-match ban.
Ibrahimovic, second behind Antonio Di Natale in the scoring charts with 15 league goals this season, will now miss league trips to Udinese and Cesena before Juve come to Milan on February 25.
Milan are likely to appeal the decision.
Club vice president Adriano Galliani told Gazzaetta dello Sport: "I am reading catastrophic opinions on this, but there was no violence.
"Therefore, I believe Ibrahimovic will not receive more than a two-match ban.''
Ibrahimovic is available to face the Juve this month, however. The Bianconeri travel to San Siro on Wednesday for the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.

There might be a reason why he was suspended for 3 games instead of 2. Oh, the game with Juve is coming....I see now! Am I seeing this right? please post my comment this time, if you wouldn't mind!
A deserved ban. You can't go around slapping people and expect to get away with it.
How stupid can you be? Some of the most important games are coming ahead and he's gonna miss them... because he can't control himself... Milan deserve this for not investing wisely in their future.
dont touch my boy Aronica
Deserved.
