Rangers captain Steven Davis has issued a plea for new players to bolster the squad after crashing out of the William Hill Scottish Cup to Dundee United at Ibrox.
Mervan Celik - who was substituted after just 45 minutes of his first start in the 2-0 defeat - was the club's only capture of the January window despite the sale of top goalscorer Nikica Jelavic to Everton on transfer deadline day.
With manager Ally McCoist unable to secure a replacement before the deadline, Davis knows free agents are the only option now but would like to see the manager given the green light to make some new additions.
The midfielder said: "The window is closed and it's only frees that are going to be available but it would be nice to see a bit of investment in the team and try to add to what we've already got.
"The problem is that we've got a lot of key players out as well and that's something that's gone against us this season."

Normanpatterson!, the sad thing Norman is that we the Public sit back and let it Happen, RBS aside we have been getting warned for Months about Mr Whyte, not just from the Daily Rags but the Old Rangers Board, people like Rangers greatest ever servant, John Greig. Why is Mr Whyte stopping the publication of the Annual Financial Reports / Accounts
@#$% didn't do any good at drumcree..desperado...LMFAO!
it doesnt matter if rangers had teams for a quadruple if the players arent working for each other and the manager is not able to put out good enough tactics it doesnt matter how you acquire the people its how you utilize them, look at martin o'neil with sunderland a team under bruce that wasnt performing but now under MON there a completely different team yet the same individuals with both managers, davis didnt try to win yday and he didnt make his team makes want to win either so enough with the excuses and start making what you got work
25 years of sculldugery
All managers with in this time frame must be questioned as to what they knew and if discovered to have been involved in any way stripped of all awards win and brought in front of a judge to answer for his wrong doings Simple as!!
Post1=It's not sad to see the gers go down the pan. It's GREAT.
norma ya trumpet there is only one "institution"being ruined by the boardroom and that is scumgers
Like RBS, Rangers troubles are all the fault of the Boardroom. How sad to see two great Scottish institutions ruined by bad management at the top.
