Ben Hilfenhaus has been called up for Australia's Commonwealth Bank Series one-day international against Sri Lanka on Friday after fellow paceman Brett Lee suffered a foot injury.
The Tasmanian will provide cover in Perth after veteran Lee suffered the problem in Friday's Twenty20 clash with India at the MCG in Melbourne.
Scans confirmed Lee has suffered a fractured small toe on his right foot and the injury will keep him out of action for "four to six weeks", Cricket Australia announced.
National Selector John Inverarity said: "The NSP has named Ben Hilfenhaus in the squad for the game against Sri Lanka in Perth on Friday. Ben will replace the injured Brett Lee.
"The bowling attack for Perth is likely to be the same as the one that did so well in Melbourne and Ben will be in Perth to provide cover."
