Crewe striker Shaun Miller is unlikely to return in the "immediate future", according to first-team coach Steve Holland. The 20-year-old, who has made just six starts this season, is nursing a long-standing ankle injury which could prevent him playing any part in the remainder of the campaign.
"Shaun has got a problem which needs to be resolved not just in the immediate short-term, but also for his long-term career," Holland told the Sentinel.
"He's having injections to try and solve it. It is an ongoing ankle problem keeping him out and that has been the case on three or four occasions now.
"He's got incredible flexibility in his ankle, which means he only has to be slightly off balance to go over and strain his ligaments. As a result, he isn't on the fringe of returning to the team in the immediate future."
Miller's last appearance for the Railwaymen came in the defeat to Swansea on January 22.
