Lewington eases Dons' injury woes

Thu 06 Mar, 05:30 PM

Paul Ince welcomes back Dean Lewington for MK Dons' trip to Grimsby on Friday but still has a host of selection problems to contend with.Lewington missed the 1-0 win over Chester last weekend through suspension but will slot straight back in at left-back for the dress rehearsal of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.

The sides will meet at Wembley at the end of the month but Ince will be more concerned with regaining top spot in League Two after seeing Peterborough overtake them in midweek.

Elsewhere, captain and newly-crowned League Two player of the year Keith Andrews sits out the second of his two-match suspension while Drissa Diallo is unlikely to be rushed back from his hamstring strain.

Top scorer Mark Wright will be out for at least another week courtesy of his hamstring problem while forward Aaron Wilbraham is not ready to return from his knee injury. Gareth Edds was a surprise inclusion on the bench last week after his ankle operation and could feature again.

Fellow striker Kevin Gallen was a late withdrawal from the matchday squad last week and could return though John Miles performed well in his place. Paul Mitchell remains a long-term absentee after his badly broken leg in February 2007 but could feature before the end of the season.
