Derby goalkeeper Lewis Price has vowed to battle Roy Carroll all the way in a bid to re-establish himself as the Rams' number one.The 23-year-old was unceremoniously dumped by manager Paul Jewell for the former Manchester United stopper following a run of games in the Derby first team.
But despite finding himself on the outside looking in, Price insists he has not yet given up hope of ousting Carroll in the long term.
"I wanted to see out the season as the number one goalkeeper. Unfortunately for me that couldn't happen so now I've got to look to the future," he told the Evening Telegraph.
"Hopefully, I can play a few more games before the end of the season. If not, I'll look to next season and try and really push Roy for all he's got.
"I'm not going to give up, I'm going to fight Roy all the way. It's just something
I've got to do for my own career."
