Milan president Silvio Berlusconi believes Chelsea's unsettled striker Andrei Shevchenko will return to the Italian giants.

Quizzed over possible reinforcements in the summer, especially after the European champions were dumped out of the Champions League by Arsenal in midweek, Berlusconi was confronted with names such as Shevchenko's team-mate Didier Drogba and Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

"These are good players, but I'm thinking of Shevchenko," Berlusconi said. "We talk regularly and he continues to say that he wants to return to Milan.

"I don't believe that [Chelsea owner] Roman Abramovich will have any problems in letting him go."

Ukraine international Shevchenko, 31, left Milan for Chelsea for £30 million in the summer of 2006 but has never managed to hold down a regular starting place with Chelsea, with many believing that he was Abramovich's signing and that then-boss Jose Mourinho had no interest in signing or playing him.
