Macclesfield manager Keith Alexander declared himself "delighted" with his side's draw at the Racecourse Ground against struggling Wrexham.Welshman Jamie Tolley hit a hammer blow to Wrexham's survival hopes after 51 minutes when he picked up Steve Evans' poor clearance and rifled home.

Gareth Evans headed in Michael Proctor's throw to the Dragons the slenderest of lifelines in their battle against the drop.

Alexander said: "I'm delighted with the performance and I would have taken a point before the start of the game.

"In the end maybe I'm a little disappointed that we didn't take more of our chances, but this is a good result.

"I don't think it's enough to make us safe, but we'll aim to remain unbeaten until the end of the season to make sure we stay in this league."
