Jackett frustrated by home draw

Sun 06 Apr, 06:15 PM

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett admitted to having mixed emotions after drawing 1-1 in a relegation six-pointer with Gillingham at the New Den.The visitors took the lead when Nicky Southall's squirming free-kick defeated Rhys Evans at his near post, but Lions skipper Paul Robinson's second goal of the season kept Jackett's men two points above the drop zone with four games remaining.

"Paul's was a good strike, much needed. We obviously dominated so it is a double-edged sword really. Crewe have got beaten and we have added a point to our total so that is a positive," said Jackett. "But when you dominate games like we are we should be winning them so that is a frustration. We should be sweeping these sides away so it is really two points lost.

"Sometimes you can't score a goal because you don't have the ball, but in the last three or four games we had about 70% possession and scored only five goals in eight matches."

Millwall wasted a glorious chance to equalise after 51 minutes when Ahmet Brkovic headed wide from just four yards with the goal gaping.

"I am lost for words about Brkovic's miss. It was a golden opportunity and we have to take our chances," added Jackett.
