Chesterfield took full advantage of Shrewsbury's failings and manager Lee Richardson was delighted with the way his side managed to respond. The Spireites fired in three goals in the space of 12 minutes on their way to a comfortable win 4-1 over out-of-form Shrewsbury.
Richardson said: "We had a good second-half performance. I thought that we were a little bit shoddy at times in the first half and didn't play to our capabilities.
"It was a slow start from us, but I said to the boys at half-time that we had created some good chances without really playing like we can.
"I thought that we struggled to get going in the first half and that we were huffing and puffing, but we certainly rectified that.
"All four of our goals were excellent."
