Slade praises transitional Gloves

Sun 06 Apr, 04:45 PM

Manager Russell Slade claims Yeovil are in transition following their defeat at Carlisle but believes one more win will be enough for safety. An injury-time goal by substitute Scott Dobie gave automatic promotion contenders Carlisle a 2-1 victory, leaving Slade's side just five points clear of the relegation zone.

"The club is going through a period of transition. We have a lot of young players and I am juggling things around," said Slade. "For us we need one more win to finish our season."

Slade felt Yeovil deserved a draw and was left frustrated by a fine save from home keeper Keiren Westwood with the scores 1-1.

"It was a great save. He is the best keeper in League One this season and you can see why with saves like that," added Slade. "We came with a game-plan and frustrated them. Carlisle huffed and puffed and had some good possession but we got some good blocks in and with a couple of decent saves kept our noses in front.

"In the last 15 minutes we were more concerned with getting the winner than making sure we hung on to what would have been a valuable point."
