A brief look at how the mangers responded to their sides' performances on Sunday, with Alex Ferguson hailing a terrific game of football at the Riverside.
Middlesbrough 2-2 Manchester United
Gareth Southgate: "I am happy with the way we played. We had a full house and we gave a good account of ourselves so I am pleased. Both the goals we scored were good goals and we had them rattled. The team performance was excellent. We answered most of the questions and had them on the back foot for the majority of the game. I've spoken to the players afterwards following recent games. We've now been to Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa and given a good account of ourselves. They are a young group of lads who will grow as a team."
Alex Ferguson: "We could have lost the game there's no question - they had some chances. At times the defending was a bit haphazard I thought. But in other ways we could have won the game because some of the approach and football was very good. At 1-0 we looked very strong. They changed after starting off with two wide players and one forward and that obviously made it harder to beat them. We controlled the game and Wayne Rooney was unluckily given offside when he clearly wasn't. They changed their formation back to a 4-4-2, got an equaliser, and it was a great game of football after that."
Everton 1-0 Derby
David Moyes: "We are optimistic, we believe we can still catch Liverpool. That's 60 points and we have won 18 games in the Premier League, and with five to go we can end with a very healthy tally in an excellent position. We are having to push them towards the end of the season, to keep them going. It has been a long, hard campaign. It was not a terrific display, but we have had some great performances at home this season and are still in with a shout. It was a hard game, but the only thing important was three points and another victory."
Paul Jewell: "If we'd played like that all season we probably wouldn't be where we are. For passing and movement we were excellent, we just didn't have the killer pass. We didn't have the quality at times but I couldn't ask for more from the players. We pushed Everton all the way and I'm pleased with the performance, just disappointed not to get something out of the game."
