A Mauricio Isla own goal gave Internazionale a narrow 1-0 victory over Udinese at Stadio Friuli in Serie A.

A cagey match was devoid of many clear-cut chances, but Isler's unfortunate goal was enough to give Jose Mourinho's side a slender lead which they never relinquished.

Fabio Quagliarella was the most potent attacking threat for Udinese, who played well enough in the first half to deserve to go in level at half-time.

But Inter dominated territorially in the second half, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic the source of much of their most fluid attacks.

Mourinho's double change midway through the second half, bringing on Patrick Vieira and Luis Figo, opened up the play for the visitors.

It was the presence of Vieira inside the penalty area which caused Isler's aberration, to give Inter the three points which moves them nine points clear of Juventus at the top of Serie A.
