Aldridge welcomes Mandaric decision

Tue 06 May, 04:15 PM

Leicester chief executive Paul Aldridge has welcomed Milan Mandaric's decision to remain as chairman following the club's relegation. After hinting that he may leave the Foxes following the goalless draw at Stoke which saw the club slip into the third tier for the first time in its history, Mandaric, who is currently conducting business in America, has decided to stay at the Walkers Stadium and help the club in its bid to bounce back to the Championship.

Aldridge told Leicester's official website: "Milan has reiterated his commitment to the club and I will support him in every way I can.

"Despite the fans' obvious disappointment, I just hope they do not desert him after he has devoted so much time, money and personal sacrifice in such a short period of time.

"Milan is bitterly disappointed and feels for each and every member of the club. Of course, this was not the plan he had in mind for the club when he took charge just over a year ago.

"But he will be back in the country later this week and is determined to come back fighting and help this club bounce back. He is a winner, not a quitter."
