Linwood tips Davies for success

Tue 06 May, 06:45 PM

Centre-back Paul Linwood admits he is no nearer to sorting out his future but insists boss Simon Davies is the man to lead Chester forward. The 24-year-old is out of contract this summer but has been a regular in the Blues' starting XI this term, making 48 appearances as he helped Davies' men escape relegation.

"It's good to know that someone like Simon Davies, who knows his football, wants me to stay at Chester and speaks so highly of me," Linwood told the Evening Leader.

"He would be a really good boss to work for and whether I'm here or not I know Chester will do well next season with him in charge.

"Nothing really gets talked about until everyone knows where they are in pre-season.

"I've already spoken to (director) Bob Gray and Simon Davies and we now need to sit down and see where we all are and gradually it will all get sorted."
