Chairman Ray Ranson says Coventry will 'revamp the whole squad' to ensure City are challenging at the top end of the Championship next season. The Sky Blues narrowly avoided relegation on Sunday despite being beaten 4-1 at Charlton.
Ranson, who completed his takeover of the club in December, wants to ensure that City never find themselves in that nerve-wracking scenario again and is expecting a busy period of transfer activity at the Ricoh Arena this summer.
"Having spoken to the manager (Chris Coleman), there will be major surgery with lots of comings and goings this summer. The work has already started and we want to revamp the whole squad from top to bottom," Ranson told the Coventry Telegraph.
"I hope that we can give the supporters a team to shout about next season and, while I am at this club, what happened over the last few months will never happen again. I fully expect to be competing at the other end of the table with the type of players we are looking to bring in this summer.
"This season was all about consolidation, but I never thought it would go to the wire and the white knuckle ride that we have just been through."
