Huddersfield have called on the Rugby Football League to censure referee Ben Thaler over the blunder they claim cost them victory over Warrington.
The Giants are incensed over the awarding of a try to Wolves full-back Stuart Reardon during Saturday's 36-34 engage Super League defeat at the Millennium Stadium, believing a tackle on the player was completed before he grounded the ball over the line.
Thaler can be heard on the video tape of the game calling the completed tackle but, after Reardon fell over the line while trying to regain his feet, he handed the decision over to the video referee, who awarded a try.
"It was a ridiculous decision to refer it to the video referee," said Giants football manager Stuart Sheard.
"Paul Jackson released his grip on Reardon because the referee had shouted held."
Huddersfield, who were leading 22-8 at the time, say the decision changed the complexion of the game and they have asked RFL match officials director Stuart Cummings if he intends to discipline his referee.
