Bundesliga - Franck Ribery will join Bayern Munich on Thursday after having passed a medical, according to Marseille chairman Pape Diouf.
An agreement is expected to be reached on Wednesday and the France international will directly travel from Auxerre, were he will play in a Euro 2008 qualifier against Georgia, to Germany.
"The transaction will be concluded on Wednesday and Ribery will move to Munich in order to pass the medical and to sign his contract on Thursday," Diouf told L'Equipe.
Bayern will sign the Frenchman for 25 million euros and will offer the winger a 4 million euro annual wage. The move represents the second biggest transfer in Bundesliga history, after Brazilian striker Amoroso, who moved from Parma to Dortmund in 2001.
The swoop comes hot on the heels of the signing of World Cup winner Luca Toni from Fiorentina as the German club continues to strengthen its squad after a disappointing season.
Marseille will now turn to focus on trying to replace Ribery, with Barcelona's Ludovic Giuly offering one possible solution.
"Giuly to replace Ribery? For the moment it is just a wish from the Barcelona player," Diouf said.
"We have to know in which conditions the deal could be concluded. I say it today, we won't waste too much money on salaries. We won't make the same errors as we did after [Didier] Drogba's transfer."
