Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood hopes to close in on several targets soon and has urged Sammy Clingan to pledge his future to the club.Clingan, who is set to become a free agent later this summer, is currently mulling over the offer of a new deal and has been linked with Ipswich, Norwich and QPR.
But Calderwood wants the former Wolves trainee to remain at the City Ground as Forest prepare for life in the Championship.
"Sammy has been excellent for us and we want to keep him," said Calderwood.
"We are waiting to hear back from Sammy and hopefully before the weekend or next week we will have heard something.
"I think in the next week we will hopefully tie up one or two things in terms of getting Sammy signed and progressing with one or two other deals and then we've got a little break again before we come back pre-season."
