Fri 06 Jun, 06:30 PM

Luton Town's future owners have signalled their intentions to appeal against the Football Association sanctions imposed upon the club. The Hatters will begin the 2008-09 campaign with minus 10 points and have also been hit with a £50,000 fine over 15 charges of misconduct, relating to allegations of alleged bungs.

The statement from LTFC2020 on the club's official website read: "(On Thursday) we took extensive advice from a number of sources and planned our future actions.

"We have officially requested justification from the FA for the sanctions that they have officially imposed upon us, and when we have considered their response, we will look to appeal within their 14-day deadline.

"We must show the sporting community how unjust these sanctions are, the depth of feeling, and that we will keep our plight at the top of the agenda until justice is served properly and proportionately.

"We will not give up our fight for justice."
