Hereford boss John Trewick is prioritising the defence in his transfer dealings but remains hopeful of bringing in a new striker to the club.
Trewick has already signed defenders Keith Lowe, Ryan Valentine and Ryan Green this summer.
But with striker Steve Guinan having joined Northampton, Trewick is hoping to have some money left over from his dealings to sign another forward.
"I'm trying to sort out the defence and the midfield first," he told the club's website.
"Of course that will leave whatever is left for the attacking positions and the goalkeeper.
"I am hoping to have a little bit more left in the budget to possibly push the boat out a bit, if necessary, for somebody like a striker who can make the difference when games are tight and come up with a bit of magic."
