Parish: No truth in Clyne rumours

Wed, 06 Jun 16:09:37 2012

Crystal Palace have denied claims that Newcastle have contacted them about a deal for Nathaniel Clyne.

Recent reports have suggested that the Toon have stepped up their interest in signing the England Under-21 international.

However, Eagles co-chairman Steve Parish has moved to calm the speculation and he told the South London Press: "I read them and they are not true."

He added: "It's completely made up - I hate using those words but they have just got bad information.

"I had a chat to people there a while ago and they do quite like him - but that doesn't mean they are going to buy him."

  1. No one seems to want Clyne. Newcastle and Man U interest is non-existent and all other clubs are looking at foreign right backs. Enter Wigan and they'll nick him on the cheap no doubt. Why won't Clyne sign a 2 year contract with a minimal fee clause that suits both parties? Case of big time charlie and agents turning heads

  2. Good propaganda by Parish to tempt Newcastle and hope for a premier league bidding war! Pretty lame really.
