Trainer George Margarson has two big handicaps in mind for Young Mick following his creditable effort in the Old Newton Cup at Haydock.
The six-year-old, runner-up to the impressive Mad Rush on Saturday, is being prepared for the Casino At The Empire Stakes at Ascot on July 27 followed by at the totesport Ebor at York on August 20.
"The handicapper has never given him a chance. To be fair he's probably running better now than when he won all those races two years ago," said Margarson.
"My fellow's a Group horse, 101 is a hell of a mark to run to at this level. But the winner is obviously a good horse and the ground went for me. He'll have to come down in the weights now.
"In three weeks' time he goes to Ascot for the big handicap there and then he goes for the Ebor."
