Samba Set To Stay At Blackburn

Sun 06 Jul, 12:09 PM

The agent of Blackburn defender Christopher Samba expects the defender to remain at Ewood Park next season.

The centre-half has impressed in the Premier League during the past 18 months following his move from Hertha Berlin.

He was brought to the club by former Rovers boss Mark Hughes, who moved on to Manchester City last month.

Samba's representative Leon Lambert recently claimed that Hughes was keen to take the 24-year-old to City in a £4million deal.

However, Lambert now says the Congo international is happy at Blackburn and is not predicting a summer transfer.

"Chris has a five-year deal and he is very happy," said Lambert in the Daily Star Sunday.

"There have been some rumours, but at this moment I expect him to start the season there."
