United Eye Huntelaar Deal

Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has claimed Manchester United are "very interested" in signing him.

Contract talks between Ajax and Huntelaar recently broke down, leading to fresh speculation that the 24-year-old could be set to depart the Amsterdam Arena this summer.

A number of top European clubs - including United, Arsenal and Real Madrid - have been linked with a swoop for the Holland international following his impressive form in the Eredivisie.

Ajax are hopeful the forward may reconsider his decision to turn down their latest contract offer, however Huntelaar has claimed that United are monitoring his situation closely.

"I love clubs with great history like Ajax, I also love United," Huntelaar told Dutch reporters. "It's a club that makes me dream, especially as Ruud van Nistelrooy played there and did great things with them.

"I know certain English clubs are following me, like Manchester United, who are very interested in me."

  1. United need to sign Huntelaar.....i prefer him than Berbatov and hes a lot younger which is something fergie seems to go for these days YOUTH. Sell ronaldo if he wants to go and bring in Messi.........he wasting his time at barca!!

  2. Saha is a talent but next to useless. United have to get him fit to either: make sure he contributes more often or he is in a fit state to be sold and hence a better transfer income. So I would definately transfer Saha for Huntelaar. Maybe one or two quality additions will give keep us retaining the edge over the rest in Europe with an even stronger squad. (Unlike 1999 when we didnt buy anybody of repute or attract anybody to the EC winning team)

  5. many great players dont make a great team ask cheksea think you have enough talent myabe a bit more fire power up front because of saha injury probs but arsenal liverpool and chelsea wil all be there in the mix as useall so lets hope it stays close as more intresting poor old hull stoke and west brom let alone west ham bolton wigan and a few others

  11. Dependin on the price i fink we should get him bcuz united iz in desperate need 4 an out an out striker. I like saha but i dont fink he wil come back an do a gud enuf job 4 us. He has been out 4 far 2 long an fergie has been patient wit him but sadly its time we move on. Huntelaar mite/should be able 2 do di job saha didnt get 2 di chance 2 do bcuz of injuries.
