LONDON (AFP) - Roger Federer defeated Andy Roddick 5-7, 7-6 (8/6), 7-6 (7/5), 3-6, 16-14 to win a sixth Wimbledon title and a record 15th Grand Slam crown on Sunday.
The world number two, who also owns five US Open, three Australian Open and a French Open trophy, went past Pete Sampras's mark of 14 majors.
Victory also meant he will reclaim the world number one spot from Rafael Nadal on Monday.
