Fabio Capello believes he is winning his battle in tackling England's problems of lack of confidence and the psychological barrier of playing at Wembley.
England have a 100% record in competitive games since Capello became head coach but the Italian is wary of predicting great things for the side at next year's World Cup.
Asked about England's improvement during his time in charge, Capello told fifa.com: "When we started, during the first training session, I was very happy. But after the first game against Switzerland, I understood why the England team had a problem. The problem was Wembley. The problem was no confidence. The problem was the group."
He added: "There were a lot of problems, but I've been working on these things and the result has been okay so far."
Capello was in South Africa last month to search out a suitable base for England, and he also watched Brazil win the Confederations Cup to become favourites to win the World Cup next year.
The England head coach added: "In the history of football, Brazil are the best team in the world; the number of World Cups they've won shows that.
"It won't be easy, but we have a chance. I always try to win with my teams. My mentality is such that when you play against any team, you play to win. I hope we can do it.
"Avoiding injuries is really, really important. Some players are the base of the team. I hope that they will be fit.
"I remember I played a Champions League final without four key players through injury and I lost. I hope that I won't experience the same here."

with his lopsided smile, quaint expressions and fascinating face, i love this guy; but really because he has restored in me some faith that our national side are not there just for the accolade of an international cap, but do have a desire to play up to their capabilities, play well and win
when, if ever, will we have an englishman capable of doing the same? the nearest i have seen, including all the listed 'candidates' of the past, is steve coppell; but i get the feeling he has had enough of today's prima-donnas for the time being
come bacjk steve; the game needs you and your kind much more than it needs the keanes and his kind.
