Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has lined up a friendly against 1860 Munich during their training camp in Germany.
The squad headed off on Monday after getting together on Saturday with Craig Bellamy back in the picture.
The Wales striker is aiming to build up his stamina after missing the last eight matches of the season because of a knee injury.
Hughes told the club`s official website: "There is a lot of science behind what we are trying to achieve on the fitness front.
"Everything is geared up for us to be the best the players can be on the first day of the season at Blackburn.
"We want to hit the ground running because this is an important year for us."

Hes barking on about fitness again.
Well, i guess they will need to be fit when running around after the ball for another 9months.
tactics instead maybe Sparky... or maybe not
I fell for him,,
I don't know why.
A simple touch will do it all
His warm embrace is what I want
His smell lingers on me now,,
Thank God it does.
Maybe now I'll sleep tonight imagining him right by my side.
Perfect friends is what we are.
In love with him why did I fall..?
Well Bellamy will have a fight on his hands with our other strikers....he'll have to up his game, love him or hate him, he had an instant impact on his debut.
If Bellamy hits the ground running he will be out for another 3 months.
