Ben Davies admits leaving Shrewsbury was "one of the hardest things" he has done after completing his move to League Two rivals Notts County.

The free-kick specialist, 28, penned a three-year deal at Meadow Lane last week and admits that County`s ambitions were behind his decision.

"It was really hard, one of the hardest things I've had to do," Davies told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"I still talked it over with my family and thought about it for a week but, in the end, County's ambitions persuaded me to sign."
