Brentford striker Charlie MacDonald must wait another month before finding out when he will be able to return from injury.

MacDonald has been sidelined since March after dislocating his shoulder against Gillingham, ending a season which produced 18 goals.

The former Southend player will definitely miss the start of the new season but a visit to a specialist this week provided some good news.

"I saw my specialist last Wednesday, and he said the shoulder's healing well and I'm making good progress," MacDonald told The Hounslow Chronicle.

"I'm starting to get some feeling back in it now and am building up its strength.

"I'll go back to see him again in four weeks' time, and I will know a lot more then about how long I'll be out."
