Nigel Pearson knows he has a responsibility to spend Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric's money wisely in the transfer market.
The City manager is determined to add more quality to his squad for their return to the Championship.
However, he accepts that the club may miss out on potential targets if the price is not right, as Mandaric warned last week.
"I have had some good meetings with Milan but it is important to remember there are not unlimited funds available and the money is coming directly from the chairman, so I have to spend it wisely," Pearson told the Leicester Mercury.
"You do as much as you can to eliminate the risks and I feel a moral responsibility to do the homework on any potential signings. Sometimes we will be successful and sometimes we will not be.
"We identify players and we have our own valuation on them but there is a limit to where we are going to go and, when you reach that, you have to move on and look elsewhere as we won't be held to ransom."

Another season of 'loan' signings !!!..got away with that in League 1 !!... it wont work in The Championship !!.. why hasnt the Chairman learnt ??.. the club needs quality players to go forward.. 'SIMPLE'S' !!!!!!!!!
So once again we get sc***d over by the chairman he as been promising to spend money since he got there, what has he spent???????????????
So what happened to the chairman's promise of "whatever it takes"? Did he or did he not promise to make the necessary investments to get back into the premiership? He has the cash.....so now it's time to put it where his mouth is.
So what are you saying...put it into words that we the supporters and hard paying seasoning ticket holders can understand...we either want to drive the club forward with talent or not?..............or do I hear that everything is in the basement sell offs that we can afford.
