Paul Simpson is excited to see a fully-fit Vmer Riza line-up for Shrewsbury this season.

The Shrewsbury manager signed Riza in April after a trial and he played two games before the end of last season.

But due to a ban from the Turkish Football Federation, for walking out on Turkish outfit Trabzonspor over pay, he had not played competitively since 2007, which hampered his match fitness.

"We are going to see a fully fit Vmer Riza this season if he gets a full pre-season under his belt," Simpson told the Shropshire Star.

"He didn't get that last season, and you could tell from what he gave on the pitch that his fitness wasn't quite right."
