Burnley captain Steven Caldwell is calling on his side to take their excellent pre-season form into the new Championship campaign.Boss Owen Coyle added six new players to his squad over the summer and has prepared his side for the forthcoming season with trips to the USA, Ireland and Scotland.
The Clarets begin the new season with a trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and Caldwell is confident they can push for a play-off place.
"It's been really brilliant in pre-season and we are looking forward to the start, kicking the whole thing off and hopefully getting a positive result on Saturday," he told the club's official website.
"I'm pleased that we are improving and brining in quality players because we certainly need that all over the football club.
"It's going to be extremely difficult to win games regularly, but we're looking to do that and hopefully push on towards the play-offs. We have to bring all our qualities to every game and I'm sure if we do that we'll have a good season."
