Curran keen on starting berth

Wed 06 Aug, 01:15 PM

Tranmere striker Craig Curran has admitted he is eager for the new campaign to kick-off and wants to cement a first-team place.Following a successful pre-season campaign, where he scored four goals, Curran is determined to secure a regular start under Rovers boss Ronnie Moore.

He told the club's official website: "The goals give you confidence, but they're just pre-season. It's the big stage now and hopefully I can take my form into the season.

"I prefer 4-4-3. It allows you more space and gives you the chance to get into holes and behind defenders more.

"There's competition wherever you are, at this club or any other. I'm just going to work hard and that's the best I can do.

"I'm still only 18 and I'm learning a lot from all the lads. Its great to play alongside experienced players."

  1. I know he's only 18 and still learning from the lads, but can someone explain to him that you can't play 4-4-3?
