Crewe boss Steve Holland insists he will move quickly to decide whether or not to offer trialist Fabio Ervoes a contract with the club.Holland has made no secret of his desire to bring another defender to Gresty Road and a decision is expected in the next couple of days.

"I didn't attend the Nantwich game, because I was actually out watching potential defenders elsewhere but I spoke to Neil (Baker) straight after the game and will discuss the performances of all the players in more detail over the week," he told the club's official website.

"Some of them did their chances of being involved on Saturday no harm at all and others still have work to do. I will get a progress report from Neil before we decide to extend Fabio Ervoes' stay with us.

"I think it is only fair that we make the decision on him fairly quickly. They are never easy decisions to make but that is part of the job and we have to be more decisive."
