Millwall manager Kenny Jackett has confirmed he is keen on signing Ebbsfleet United's John Akinde after lodging a bid for the striker.The 19-year-old is one of a number of forwards on Jackett's radar as he attempts to beef up his frontline, having hit six goals in 18 Blue Square Premier games last season.

"I have made extensive inquiries about strikers and this is one of them," said Jackett at a fans' forum on Tuesday night.

The Lions have also been linked with a move for Leeds frontman Tresor Kandol.

"We will have to wait and see if we get someone in before we go to Oldham on Saturday," added Jackett.
