Shrewsbury assistant John McMahon has warned his players they must maintain a cutting edge despite seeing off Buxton in their final friendly.Goals from Guy Madjo, Kelvin Langmead and David Hibbert gave the Shrews a comfortable 3-0 lead.
But Buxton reduced the deficit and Shrewsbury missed a number of chances, which worried McMahon.
"The commitment and effort were there but we just seemed to lack that clinical finishing in front of goal," he told the club's official website.
"We were playing some decent build up play but when we got it into the final third we were squandering chances.
"Speaking to the players after the game they knew it hadn't bee the best of performances and they said they did expect a bit more from themselves."
