Barcelona's Mexican defender Rafael Marquez will be out of action for up to 15 days with a left calf injury.

Marquez has just returned to the team after surgery for a knee injury he sustained in the Champions League semi-final first-leg against Chelsea on April 28.

He will miss the rest of Barcelona's tour of the United States.

And he is a doubt for Mexico's World Cup qualifier against the United States on August 12 and the Spanish Super Cup first leg against Athletic Bilbao four days later.

European and Spanish champions Barca kick off the defence of their domestic title at home to Sporting Gijon on Monday August 31.
