Amidst talks of a Russian takeover led by former vice-president David Dein, American Stan Kroenke is set to renew his interest in Arsenal.
Businessman Kroenke has acquired a 12 per cent stake in Arsenal over the past few months and has been linked with a takeover, and current chairman Peter Hill-Wood has admitted that the pair met in recent weeks.
"We had a very friendly talk," Hill-Wood told the Daily Star. "We wanted to know what he had in mind."
The rival company allegedly bidding for the Gunners are Red and White company, run by Russian businessman Alisher Usamov, who recently bought Dein's 14.58 per cent stake in the club, leading to speculation about a Dein-fronted bid.
Hill-Wood added of Dein's sale: "They were his shares, he's entitled to sell them to whoever he wants."
