Juande Ramos has pledged to stay at White Hart Lane to turn Tottenham around.
The Spurs manager saw his side slump to their third home defeat of the season against Hull, and now you must go back to 1912, the year the Titanic sank, to find a worse Tottenham start to a season.
But Ramos, who could cost Tottenham £20million in compensation if he was sacked by chairman Daniel Levy, insisted: "This is my job. I am the same whether we win or lose.
"Any decision on my future is not up to me but I am determined to put it right. It is my job, my work.
"The main problem for us is scoring goals. You have to score to win games and we are finding that difficult.
"But if we continue to play similar to how we did against Hull we can change the situation."
Spurs' last home league win came against Portsmouth in March and they have triumphed in just three league games since claiming the Carling Cup last season.
Ramos, however, said: "The effort was there and the players did their job very well.
"Their attitude was positive and when I speak to them they say they want to finish this situation quickly."
Ramos will discover on Monday the extent of his striker problems when Roman Pavlyuchenko undergoes a scan on the ankle which saw him limp off in the first half to be replaced by Darren Bent.
For Hull, however, they are coming to terms with life at the heady heights near the summit of the Barclays Premier League after their second win in the capital in eight days, following their victory against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
It left boss Phil Brown admitting: "We're ahead of schedule and in dreamland at the moment but we know we will have lows as well.
"I still see Tottenham as a top-six team but they have got to start winning soon.
"My hardest job after last week was to keep their feet firmly on the ground and make sure that they weren't over-confident."
"We defended manfully again and kept the work-rate high. I love 1-0 wins. As a defensive coach it is fantastic to see.
"You can see there is a spirit, there is a camaraderie that doesn't want to get beaten."

Martin Jol must be laughing away in Germany, he must feel vindicated. I still do not understand why Spurs cannot win games, they have a team that is loaded with talented players who have played for their national teams, I really find this "incredible". I do think the problem with Spurs is:
1. Football Operations, Spurs have LOST some very good/solid players, Sol Campbell, Defoe, Berbatov, Keane, Mido, Carrick. And what did the Football Operations do in return to replace quality players? Get Bent, Woodgate, Mordic, Santos, Gomez, and Pauvlychenko. There was a reason why Bent was playing at Charlton, he was no good, if was good, he would have been snapped by one of the other "top" clubs, Woodgate there is a reason why is not playing at a "top" club. Mordic and Pauvlychenko just because they showed they played well against an awful England team does not make them good players. Santos, if he was supposed to be good do you really think Barca would have let him go. On Gomez, don't you sometimes wish Robinson was still here. Commoli should be sacked.
2. Management: I have been watching all the Spurs games, and I can say Spurs are clueless, they have no direction, no plan, no system. What is worse is that you have players like Jenas, Zokora, and Lennon go from being good players to bad players. Players such as Huddlestone and O'Hara are being wasted, I was hoping to see more of these two playing. Bentley is GOOD, but "under-utilized" he must be kicking himself for moving to Spurs. Sack Ramos, I never was a fan of his. The ideal person to charge of Spurs are Allardyce and Curbishley.
3. Players, have to burden some of the responsibilities. At the end of the day it is they who have to perform.
The short vies is that Ramos is no manager and is to blame particularly as he couldn't communicate with his players at a critical time. The long view is that it's the slimy money-hugging ***** Levy and the board, who fired Jol, hired a monkey, and sold three strikers with no real replacements. Absolutely no idea. Cash cash cash, that't what its all about, eh Daniel?
Mark Hughes for Tottenham Manager
Ramos maybe part of the problem, but at the end of the day he has not become a cr*p manager overnight, there is a bigger picture to consider. For me the current crisis has to land at the door of the Spurs board. Levy & co have been usless in the transfer market this year selling good established players before the new ones have been confirmed, the director of football structure clearly does not suit the club (how long will they keep trying to make it work?? Wasn't Mr Jol undermined by this system??) and some of the players have been more than poor considering how much they have, and continue, to cost. Sacking the manager now could be even more costly, however, having said that on current performances the future is really not that bright at White Hart Lane, Sir Bill will be spinning in his grave!
This is the in fashion is to sack managers b4 the even have a season under the belt, quick fix is not the answer!! it messes up the solidarity of the squad and supporters! Spurs could do with better of both IMO (not recovered from berbatov loss yet??!?!)
I was disgusted the way they treated martin jol send the spanish onion back to seville and bring back jol silver

Hi'
It's amazing to learn what contracts sign some coaches without guaranteeing certain results. Ramos is a good example. Poor sellection, poor instructions, poor control of games. Poor Tottnum.

WE DONT WANT YOU ANY MORE RAMOS GO BACK TO SPAIN
Personally, I am very happy with the was the season is progressing at Spurs and I think Ramos is doing a superb job, from a Arsenal fan's point of view anyways. Keep up the good work Ramos, the Yido fans can almost taste the coca-cola already.
What do you think gorgeous Roxy?
Does sacking him solve the problem? It's time the players stood up and took some of the blame, half thier wage and put them on a win bonus then see them try.
Sack Ramos??? Who else is there that could sort this mess out? It's scary when people start talking about the likes of Venables! We have to stick with Ramos for now.
I will be very surprised if Ramos is still manager the next time we play!!
sack him
